Soul Mirrors ~ The Lovers

Tarot Tuesday! Feeling the Holiday Love…this week it’s The Lovers card representing: (yes!) love, attraction, transformation and spiritual union.

Wily Cupid (and a gingerbread boy and girl–or two gingerbread girls or two gingerbread boys!) arrives for Thanksgiving, shooting his arrows and bringing the mirror of relationships into our midst.

It is said that relationships are a mirror of one’s soul, and this week you may find this especially true. The Lovers is about growth and learning–through the reflection of another. True union is a responsibility and commitment; what happens AFTER the honeymoon and beyond the fairy tale with all its romantic trappings. Something to keep in mind when you’re tussling over who cuts the turkey!

Opposite attract…In the greatest sense, The Lovers represents the alchemical marriage, a union between the opposite sides of self (“male” and “female”) that can progress into a relationship with another. Ultimately, by being complete within one’s self, we are free to enter into love and be transformed in the process.

It’s true what they say: You can only love another to the degree that you love yourself!

The Lovers Mantra: As I fully love myself, I am free to love another.
