The Hanged Man ~ Let go and Let God!
Tarot Tuesday! The card for the week is The Hanged Man. Throughout the years, I’ve often found that this card/archetype shows up when people are feeling overwhelmed, vulnerable and not in control of their lives. Welcome to our current world (not to mention the Mercury Retrograde!)
I don’t usually go in for positive (right side-up) vs. negative (reversed) definitions, but with this card, I think they capture the paradox of the Hanged Man…
Right Side-Up: Feeling stuck, defeated, sense of hopelessness, martyrdom and sacrifice.
Reserved: New Spiritual viewpoint, letting go, surrender, breakthroughs and trusting a higher order.
What definition/path will you choose? The Hanged Man is a reminder that in this topsy-turvy, crazy, upside-down-cake of a world, no one is really in “control”, and the more we embrace and learn to trust spirit, to surrender (without feeling defeated) to a higher, bigger order, the more peace and serenity we will find. The Hanged Man suggests a time to change your world and personal view, to see things from a different perspective, one that offers hope, love and transcendence, no matter what is occurring around you.
This card always reminds me of the Serenity Prayer: “God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”
So, this week, let go and surrender to the spiritual flow!
