The Seven of Swords ~ Finding Peace of Mind!
Tarot Tuesday! The card for the week is the Seven of Swords, representing: Confusion, inconsistency, and negative expectations. The realm of Swords represents the mind and intellect, and this card is an indication that anxiety and fear have clouded your way of thinking; how you view others, and the world. Here we are reminded of the power of the mind, and that destructive thinking is the enemy of peace-of-mind. Or has my wise mother once said: Don't bother trouble!
Now is a time to look at your expectations. Are they realistic? Are they based in hope and optimism? Or are they an excuse to be disappointed. Thoughts, like air, can change with the wind, and it’s often best to not attach great meaning to them. This reminds me of one of my early meditation teachers, as he schooled us: “Let your thoughts come and go, like busy flies, swarming in your mind. If you don’t focus on them, they will fly away.” The Seven of Swords encourages mental discipline, so not to become a victim to those unruly “flies”.
Clarity comes from quieting the mind and finding inner stillness. Do not let your fear or doubt be your enemy, especially in regards to the future. The Future is an ever-evolving unknown. Instead invest your energy in positive outcomes, knowing that your current state of being is in constant flux, and that the more open you are, the more your perception will shift to, and attract, everything you need in the moment.
Seven of Swords Mantra: I find clarity in a peaceful mind and heart.
Wishing you a Zen-ful week!
