The Eight of Swords ~ Clarity vs. Thinking!
Tarot Tuesday! The card for the week is the Eight of Swords, representing: Over-thinking, worry, confusion and isolation. If I was to describe this card in two words, it would be: Intellectual Quagmire! The Eight of swords is a reminder that, although our intellect and mental capabilities are important, they can also lead us into trouble. When we give our analytical minds complete power, we are often forgetting a bigger picture, one filled with greater insight, mysterious unknowns and surprises, and intuitive solutions. It is the difference between thinking and clarity.
I can totally relate to this card! Lately, I’ve been trying to solve aspects of my life, applying reason and good intentions, endeavoring to figure “it” all out. All the while trying to make good decisions, but worried about making wrong choices, to the point of: Stop! This process is not getting me anywhere. So, I have decided to take a page from the Eight of Swords, which encourages a time to step back, relinquish control and Eeek!—trust the process! What a relief.
In our crazy changing world of sooo many problems that need to be solved, it’s easy to get caught up in worry and over-thinking. Yet, worry and fear, rob us of our true power—not to mention it’s completely exhausting. It’s like the harder you try to the harder it is! The Eight of Swords says, lay down your sword, for just a moment, stop trying to find solutions and allow yourself to just breathe into the present moment, relax and let life develop on its own.
Honestly, my vibe right now is that we all need to take a breather. That we all need time to integrate what’s happening in the world, how it will affect us, and to give ourselves time to process, without having to make big decisions or commitments.
8 of Swords Affirmation: I am relaxed and trust life.
Wishing you a empowered week, free from worry and anxiety!
