It's All About the Moon!

Tarot Tuesday! The card for the week is The Moon, and we also have a Full Moon in Taurus today, so you’re getting a double blast of Lunar Insight! In the Tarot, The Moon represents: Reflection, Illumination, Karmic and Emotional Release.

This card is from the Legrande Circus & Sideshow Tarot, a fun, new deck I just got using circus imagery—‘cause life is a circus after all! I love their take on The Moon:

“Driven by instinct, we leap upward to meet the moon’s full embrace. We dance wildly to the moon’s subtle song to find the night sky and its artistry. We believe what we perform to be aerial acrobatics of our own volition, but the moon’s crescent smile illumes unknowable reaches. We are guided by instinct. Forces outside us are in control. All we can do is go with the flow.”

Full Moon in Taurus: This Full Moon is also the last Super Moon of the year (meaning, it’s orbit is closer to the earth, than the usual Full Moon), giving it extra lunar zoom! It is in the earthy, sensual sign of Taurus, and says: Time to indulge your senses! “It reminds us to ground ourselves and our connection to Mother Earth, and to align ourselves with what we truly love. Her illumination will show us what we need to let go of, and what will remain, as we stay true to our hearts and embrace the healing tides.” From Mystic Mama.

Wishing you an illuminating week!

Sloooowing it Down!

New Moon in Taurus, Sunday May 17th at 9:13 pm PST!

The New Moon in Steady-Eddy, earthy, sensual Taurus indicates a time to slow down, ground and enjoy the simple pleasures of life. The Bull is ruled by Venus--the planet of love, beauty and relationships—prompting the desire to spend quality time with family, tribe, those you feel most in community with.

Taurus is connected to Mother Nature, the Goddess Gaia and all Earth Spirits, so this New Moon is opportune for communing with nature and celebrating her gifts. Because the New Moon is the beginning of a new lunar cycle, this is a time to focus on what you want to let go of and purge from your life. Consider doing a ritual where you connect with your inner Nature Goddess and ask her to show you the places in your life where you can find and develop your own natural abundance.

Taurus is all about celebrating the richness of life, and can be a bit decadent! So watch for over-indulging in your Earthly pleasures. Although New Moon’s are usually about initiation, in the lazy, chilled, smelling the roses sign of Taurus, you may not feel stimulated to get things going. No worries. Instead focus your energy on what brings abundance and enjoyment into your life.

All this slowing down, is a prelude to the upcoming Mercury Retrograde on May 18th, a time to regroup, reground, and surrender into the flow!

Stay tuned for more on the Mercury Retrograde, and in the meantime wishing you an fruitful and abundant Taurus New Moon!

Full Moon in Taurus, Thursday ~ Time to Ground!

Full Moon in Taurus, November 6th (2:23pm PST).

The sign of Taurus represents security, values, self-worth and the material realm (i.e money!) This Full Moon asks: “What do you value?” And, “Are you willing to commit to those values?” This especially applies to relationships and partnerships–personal, romantic and business-wise. This is a time to look at where (and with whom) you invest your time and energy–and whether it will benefit your long-term security. A part of the process, may be letting go/purging old situations that do not serve you.

This is also a moment to ground your energies! Full Moons always stir the pot, and this one may require some extra attention in regards to staying present to real time, the present moment. Grounding activities—exercise, gardening, cooking—anything that helps you feel more connected to Mother Earth. Taurus is also a sensual sign, so well… so I’ll just say…grounding can come in many forms!

As with any Full Moon, this period is a great time to commune, meditate and align your energies with your spiritual peeps and your highest and best good.
