The Magician ~ Create Some Magic!
Tarot Tuesday! The card for the week is The Magician, representing: Concentration, discipline, new beginnings and As Above So Below. The Magician card asks: “What is your definition of Magic?” For some, visions of glass slippers and fairy dust may come to mind; for others, it may be more Vegas style—rabbits pulled from hats and disappearing acts.
The Tarot’s Magician represents a magic of another kind: The ability to manifest one’s dreams and visions! Ruled by the planet Mercury, in Greek mythology—the Messenger of the Gods—The Magician symbolizes the god-granted ability within us all to create to our lives, and more specifically, the lives we truly want to live.
We all know that our thoughts create our reality, and The Magician’s magic comes from concentration and focus, of learning to discipline the mind to reach higher potentials. This requires quieting the mind, from what the Buddhist's call “monkey mind” to a place of stillness and deeper concentration. Meditation practices are powerful tools here.
Speaking of tools, this card indicates that you have all that you need--here a cup, wand, coin and sword—to create your desired life, but there may be a learning process ahead. Time to embrace “Beginner’s Mind”--an open state of being that allows you to develop your gifts in new ways; or in other words...learning as you go.
The Magician is about the power of manifestation, so it is important that your desires align with your higher-self, hence The Magician’s mantra: As Above So Below.
This week, be the creator of your own life and let the magic begin!
