The Wheel of Fortune ~ Embracing the Ride!
Tarot Tuesday! The card for the week is the Wheel of Fortune, representing: Change, opportunity, duality and balance. The world is experiencing a “buckle your seatbelts”, “anything goes”, Wheel of Fortune-like rollercoaster ride. This card is much like a roulette wheel or other games of chance. Here, we must be willing gamblers, ready to throw the dice, chance the wheel, ride the ride—to play the game or allow it to play us. The name of the game is change!
The Wheel of Fortune is also called the Wheel of Karma, or Fate, representing the soul as it evolves through eternity. Karma is the law of cause and effect, that for every action there is a consequence. The opportunity presented in the Wheel of Fortune is the willingness to learn lessons so we save ourselves from repeating them again and again. Or in other words—our God-given gift of Free Will!
The wheel is an ancient symbol for life, and each turn represents a passage of time, a new stage and experience. Nature is a perfect example. With each new season, we experience new energy and possibilities. We also experience loss, as we let go old structures and ways of being. The funny thing about change, is that it often makes us feel out of control. Because it presents an unknown future. Yet if we can embrace chance as a natural part of life, then we can begin to seize the opportunities it presents—to grow and explore new horizons!
The wheel holds many ups and downs, highs and lows and the key to calm these extreme comes with finding centeredness. Ultimately, the center of wheel is inspired by the Buddhist concept of detachment. Letting go of judgment and outcomes. This is your point of power now.
“In life we cannot avoid change, we cannot avoid loss. Freedom and happiness are found in the flexibility and ease with which we move through change,” The Buddha.
Have a great week and--Carpe Diem—Seize the day!
