The Emperor is a born leader. He is confident and self-assured. Indeed, confidence is an important part of the Emperor’s journey. The Emperor knows who he is, and what he wants, without hesitation. As a result, others look to him for leadership. In the best sense, the Emperor is a wise ruler, the archetype of benevolent father, with the greater good of the “kingdom” in mind. Yet, as the Emperor knows full well, the mantel of authority can be a heavy crown, for it also brings great responsibility.

When the Emperor comes your way, you are considering much around how you wield your power in the world. His spirit companion is the Hawk, ever perched at his side. The Emperor wears a heavy crown, representing authority. Authority is a divine right; how we choose to wield it is the Emperor’s journey.

As their best, The Emperor is a powerful ruler, a leader who acts with the greater good of the kingdom in mind. When out of balance, he becomes domineering, controlling and authoritarian—at tyrant. The Emperor asks you to consider what type of leader and role model you want to be. True authority requires discipline, assertiveness, patience and teamwork. By adhering to these qualities you become worth of wearing the Emperor’s crown.

How you conduct yourself now is of great importance; others are looking to you for leadership. Act with integrity towards yourself and others. Issues may arise with authority figures in your life. A circumstance where you fell someone is trying to dominate you.
