Aquarius Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse!
The Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse in the sign of Aquarius occurs on Thursday, August 18th (2:26am PST). This lunar event is actually quite extraordinary, for several reasons. First of all, it's a lunar eclipse! representing major transformation. And it has no significant conflicting influences from any fixed stars or planetary players, giving it a sense of un-encumbrance—like a cosmic breath of fresh air!
It is also a part of a “Yod”--a rare planetary aspect. On a spiritual level, a Yod signifies a karmic lesson or mission, representing something in your life that needs to be transformed in order for your soul to evolve. This is a time to look to the future. What do you want to create in your life, and does it fit with your higher purpose? The word that comes to mind is “Dharma”—the concept that we all have an individual purpose in this lifetime, and that it’s important to express it.
To me, the full moon/lunar eclipse aligns with the higher “Age of Aquarius” vibration. The Age of Aquarius is happening now, and represents the new planetary paradigm in which one’s individual gifts are highlighted, in service of the greater good. Personally, I have greatly been feeling this vibration, wanting to align myself with something bigger, something that is of service on a greater level. Although this is taking me outside of my old comfort zones, I’m working with it and feeling much grace in the process.
If you are familiar with your astrology chart, look to the house that is ruled by Aquarius, it is where your transformation is likely to unfold. (You can download your astro chart for free at astrology.com) For example, I have Aquarius on my 7th house of relationships, stimulating both my relationships with others, and my relationship with myself and my outward identity.
The challenging Saturn square Neptune of late has brought a lot of fear and anxiety into the collective. The Full Moon/Lunar eclipse offers relief, bringing new insight, discoveries and emotional freedom. It is greasing the wheel for exciting changes for a brighter feature. Your “mission” now? To use positive thinking to make the most of new opportunities. And don’t forget to have some fun—this social moon says it’s time to celebrate, commune with others and look forward to your future.
Happy illuminations!
