New Moon in Sagittarius ~ A Full Dance Card Awaits!

Sunday’s New Moon in Sagittarius dances with several major planets, something that social, adventurous Sag welcomes (“the more the better” is something Sagittarius would say)! On Luna’s dance card: Venus, Mercury and Saturn. Here’s the scoop:

The most delightful of the equation is the New Moon’s alignment with Venus (also in Sagittarius). Pleasure seeking Venus and fun-loving Sag are a great fit. The vibe is celebratory, playful and expansive. The perfect day/night for a holiday party! Relationships are highlighted, but less in a committed-sense, more let’s party, seize the moment and enjoy each other’s company. This is a time to watch for over-indulging and being too extravagant. Nothing that you’ll regret in the morning.

The Mercury Retrograde, joins Luna in Sag, and cautions us about getting too ahead of ourselves. The New Moon wants to begin again, and let go of the past. The Mercury Retrograde says, slow down, ground and be patient. A delicate balance.

Then there’s SATURN. Saturn’s orbit in Sag officially comes to an end on Monday, when it moves into the sign of Capricorn for the next few years. Saturn’s final hurrah in the sign of the Archer, in such close alignment (3 degrees) with this New Moon, is quite extraordinary and powerful. It signals a time to wrap up old business, and square away old accounts. A new day is dawning, and Saturn says, get your affairs in order, so you can reap the rewards of your hard work!

Jubilant Full Moon in Sagittarius Today!

Full Moon in Sagittarius, June 9th at 5:42am (pst.)

The Full Moon in the sign of the centaur and archer, encourages us to keep our hoofs on the ground, while still shooting our arrows toward the stars. Sagittarius brings an expansive energy to this Full Moon, illuminating our desire for adventure, change and breaking free of restrictions. Sag savors its independence, and is always on the hunt for new opportunities!   

What is special about this Sag Full Moon, is that it favorably aligns with Jupiter—Sagittarius’s ruling orb—on the very day that Jupiter goes into to direct motion. This cosmic alignment offers a powerful boost of forward momentum. Don’t be surprised if projects or plans that may have been delayed, show up again, ready to go. You may even experience a “when it rains it pours” deluge of opportunity. Try not to become distracted by too many possibilities, and focus on what’s in front of you now. This jubilant Strawberry Moon is a great time to celebrate and socialize; it is also a fortuitous time for learning, publishing and writing.

Rare Full Moon ~ June 20th!

Strawberry Moon, Blue Moon, Rare Summer Solstice Full Moon…

Monday's Full Moon in Sagittarius is all of the above! This is the second Sagittarius full moon in two months, what is often called a Blue Moon. This combined with its falling on the Summer Solstice makes for a very rare lunar event. A Full Moon has not occurred on a Summer Solstice for over 70 years, and won’t happen again until 2094!

The Solstice is the longest day of the year—offering 15 hours of daylight. This day is traditionally a time of celebration, of honoring the light and our connection to Father Sun and Mother Earth. It is also a time where the Sun and Moon can be seen in the sky at the same time. The Summer Solstice symbolizes abundance--personal and spiritual--a time to bask in the warm solar light, relax and watch the fruits of our labor ripen and grow. (I have three plum, two pear and four apple trees on my property, and I can’t wait for them to bear fruit!)

This a Blue Moon, so think back to a month ago, to the last Sag full moon…what was your focus then? What were you thinking, feeling, wanting? The hopeful seeds of your desires planted then have the opportunity to come to fruition now. This full moon also joins Saturn, bringing a sense of structure and completion. Look for an  even greater sense of manifestation and wholeness when Mars (in Scorpio) goes direct at the end of month!

New Moon in Sagittarius ~ You Had Me at Opportunity!

New Moon, new beginnings! And especially so, because this new moon forms a harmonious alignment with planetary movers and shakers, Mars and Uranus. What does this mean? Mars (in Libra) brings a relational, meet-and-greet, lets-get-friendly vibe, which greatly resonates with social Sagittarius. Then there’s Uranus (in Aries) joining the conversation, offering potential for new opportunities and breakthroughs. One word to describe this event is: Expansion!

Sagittarius has an insatiable appetite for knowledge, a yearning to grow and a desire to roam, so use this new moon to stretch your legs! The vibe now is Big Picture. With all this heightened lunar energy, don’t hesitate to take the reigns around how you want to drive your life forward. You are in charge of your reality. This new moon asks: Where are you going, and is it making you a wiser more generous person?

Be on the hunt for social opportunities that will expand your world, and don’t hesitate to have some fun. But watch for overdoing! You don’t want a New Moon hangover on Saturday. The signs of the zodiac most illuminated by this new moon are: Aries, Leo, Sagittarius and Libra.
